Parisian Cuisine

So, what does one eat in Paris?  I think I've already mentioned the Boulangers (bakeries) where you can get bread.  I love bread.  I can live on bread.  And many pastries!  I think there are no Atkins dieters in France.

Every morning, we get a baugette, a croissant and tea for breakfast.  I mean, who drinks tea?  Me, apparently, because they do not have Cheerios and milk.  Jackie showed me that if you add three packets of sugar, the tea tastes quite good.  Yay, Jackie!

I am eating strange new foods every day.  A few days ago, I had some avocados (how bizarre is that?!).  They were in a chicken caeser salad that I ordered (not realizing it was a salad.  Le doh!).

And yes, for those of you who have watched Pulp Fiction, it's true - Quarter Pounders are Royal Cheese in France.

The other day, I had a Chocolat Ligeois.  This is chocolate ice cream, with chocolate sauce, chantilly, and whipped cream.  Excellent!

Jackie had a Pschtit drink.  I asked her if it tasted like pschtit, but she said it was more lemony.

Any weight you lose by walking everywhere you put back on by eating pastries!

And - Jackie's most favourite moment of all - we discovered that Coke is a little more expensive in tourist sections.  10€ for 1.2 litres of Coke (which we shared between us and was actually cheaper than if we'd bought separately).  That is a $16 litre of Coke.  Even I had to pause at that one.  Ouch.  And you thought gasoline was expensive!
